  New Strategic Partnership Aims to Transform Minor League Hockey Players Into “Life Champions”MEDICINE HAT -- This hockey season, local coaches will unite in a common goal to deliver a highly-specialized training program that is expected to teach and inspire young hockey players across Medicine Hat on a pathway to becoming “Life Champions” -- both on and off the ice. The strategic coaching partnership, formed between the Medicine Hat Minor Hockey League, The Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds, and a national leadership training program called “Champions Win Championships”, is a long-term coaching and development plan that builds character and skill while mentoring players to prepare for future community leadership. Registration is also underway for the Junior Referee Clinic - Levels 1, 2, and 3 in Medicine Hat.
The Clinic will run October 2nd and 3rd, 2010

Click on the clinic link and scroll down to the South Zone to find Medicine Hat's dates.HOCKEY HOUNDS DEVELOPMENTAL SUPPORT PROGRAM 2010 The Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds will once again offer an introductory ice session for beginner Timbit and Novice players who are new to hockey. This is the 3rd year running the program and Hockey Hounds Development Committee Chair Brian Varga says “we want to continue to build on the success of the last few years. The parents and kids have found this event to be quite worthwhile”.
Players will be able to experience the on ice part of hockey before joining their teams for the season. Basics to be covered would include an equipment check for sizing and safety, introduction to skating skills, and basic puck handling skills. The program will progress at the level of the participants and will be presented in a fun atmosphere.
 Children will be slotted into one of 2 ice sessions
